House extension in Bow
Photographed from the first survey visit through to handover.
The job
A single-storey side extension on a terraced house in Bow, east London.
The old side of the house came down first. We built the new walls in blockwork, rendered the outside and put two roof windows in the roof.
Inside, a herringbone floor runs from the house straight into the new extension, so the two read as one space. In the front room we laid the herringbone by hand on a new level base, cut in around the fireplace.
