Loft conversion in Birmingham
Photographed from the first survey visit through to handover.
The job
Before we started, this loft in Birmingham was dark storage under bare rafters.
Headroom was the problem. To solve it, all of the ceilings below had to be pulled down. Because there's a new floor, we lowered it to get that height in. Then the dormer went on from the outside.
With the new ceiling joists and floor in, we fitted roof windows and finished it as a carpeted room. The photographs follow it from the empty loft, through the build, to the finished room.
